SPARK Matriculation Higher Secondary School ignites the minds of students and non teaching staff with sessions on organ donation

  • On October 21st Friday 2016 MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr.Balaji, Deputy Chairman of SPARK Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vellore to create awareness on Organ Donation. Dr.Hemal and Mr. Abhinav Krishna T.R from MOHAN Foundation conducted separate sessions.

    Dr. Hemal had a session with  260  students of 9th, 10th and 11th children about organ donation while Mr. Abhinav Krishna T.R.  had a session with 70 Non-teaching staff (Drivers, Cleaning staff, Electricians and Securities). It was the first time that a school had organised a session for non teaching staff.

    In both sessions the  concepts  and process of organ donation was explained clearly with examples to make it more real for the students.  Mr. Abhinav told stories of young donors and made a deep impact on the non teaching staff and on the students. At the end the  participants cleared their doubts regarding organ donation.

    Post the talk, Dr. Hemal conducted poster making  session based on myths and poem (cinquain) writing  on organs etc while Mr. Abhinav guided the students to conduct a mime on myths of organ donation. The mime  was based on - Rich or poor are treated equally in organ allocation, was performed before all the students. A quiz was conducted for the students.
