MOHAN Foundation conducts an Organ Donation Awareness at Anna Nagar RTO

  • On 6th March 2018 at 11 AM MOHAN Foundation visited the Regional Transport office (RTO), Anna Nagar for an awareness program on Organ Donation. The audience were people waiting to pick their Learners License and Full license for two wheelers and four wheelers.

    This program is conducted on every Tuesday and Friday at the RTO.  Mr. Siva Shankar, Helpline executive of MOHAN Foundation conducted the program.

    Mr. Siva Shankar first issued the information pamphlets on Organ Donation. He then started the session sharing the following concepts:

    1. What is Organ Donation
    2. Natural death, Brain death and Coma
    3. Eye donation
    4. Organs that can be donated after death and while living
    5. Accident, road crashes and fatalities in Tamil Nadu and importance of road safety
    6. TRANSTAN (Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu) and organ allocation
    7. Age criteria for Organ Donation and Donor Card

    The session went on for 35 mins. There were around 30 people who attended the session and 4 picked a donor card. MOHAN Foundation thanks Mr. Sridharan - Regional Transport Officer, Mr. Chezhiyan - Inspector, Mr. Senthuravel – Inspector and Mrs. Priya – Superintendent of Transport Office for supporting this social cause among the public.
