
MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation to the students of IIHMR (International Institute of Health Management Research), Dwarka, New Delhi on Sept 1, 2012.
The session was attended by first year students pursuing PGDHHM (Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital & Health Management) and a few faculty members. IIHMR is an institute dedicated to improvements in standards of health through better management of health care and related programmes and it offers a two year post graduate programme with specialization in Hospital Management and Healthcare IT.
The group consisted of very young, energetic and talented health care professionals who showed keen interest in the topic covered during the presentation. There were lot of queries relating to brain death and living donors, eye donation, hospitals in Delhi- NCR doing transplantation, central registry process, who gets the organs & what is the process of selecting a recipient.
About 90 - 100 students attended the talk which was so well received that 50 pledged their organs.Some even showed interest in taking up the profession of Transplant Coordinator after finishing their post graduate diploma.
