Talk on organ donation for future social workers

  • Ms. Veena, Marketing Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation visited Hindustan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore on 28th January 2013. She invited students of Department of Social Work to take part in one month transplant coordinators training programme. On Veena’s request, Dr. Punitha, HOD agreed to organize an introductory talk about the concepts of organ donation and the training programme for the students.

     

    Ms. Veena made a presentation for second year MSW students. She explained about the concepts of organ donation, eye donation, blood donation and importance of donor card. She also screened short films and shared real life stories.

     

    Ms. Veena gave a brief account about the role of a transplant coordinator in deceased organ donation programme and live organ transplant programme. She also highlighted the transplant coordinators training programme and job opportunities in various sectors.  28 students who attended the session expressed their support for the cause.
