  On 6^th April 2022 Mr. Bulu Behera from MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Poonam Lohane- Manager of Kunal Hospital, Mankapur, Nagpur to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation to the nursing staff and OPD patients of the hospital.

  Mr. Bulu Behera was the expertise for the day. He introduced himself and MOHAN Foundation and shared the below concepts of organ donation

  1. What is organ donation and tissue donation?
  2. What is the age limit for organ donation?
  3. Whom to contact for organ donation?
  4. Concept of Brain death and Circulatory death was explained in detail
  5. Difference between coma and brain death?
  6. Importance of donor card and helpline number?
  7. What are the legal process for organ donation and transplantation?

   

  Certain questions raised by the participants were as follows:

  • After a person is declared as brain dead, what is the next process?
  • What is green corridor and its importance?
  • Does MOHAN Foundation help patients financially to get a transplant done?

   

  Mrs. Poonam Lohane thanked and appreciated Mr. Bulu for conducting an excellent and interactive session on organ donation and for articulating the concepts in a simpler way.
