

Mr. Marulappa LN, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation coordinated with
Mr. Ramesh, the NABH Officer at Jayadeva Hospital, Bengaluru and organized a sensitization program for the staff the hospital on 1st September 2021.
Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS, the Project Manager of the Foundation and Mr. Marulappa were the speakers during the occasion. Mrs. Ranjini began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision; the concept of organ and tissue donation; types of death - cardiac death and brain death; brain death declaration; and procedure of deceased and living organ donation. Mr. Marulappa elaborated on eye donation. Mrs. Ranjini then covered the procedures of skin and bone donation; briefly explained the role of Jeevasarthakathe; touched upon the transplant law and the importance of a donor card. Myths and facts and barriers to organ donation were highlighted as well
All 275 members who attended the session, supported the cause of saving one’s life, proudly pledged their organ and received donor cards.
