Organ Donation Awareness Talk at Jaitala Jansampark Office, Nagpur

  On 16^th June 2021, MOHAN Foundation delivered an awareness talk on organ donation at the Jaitala Jansampark office, Nagpur. Mr. Rahul Nagpure, Chief Executive of the Office invited Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of the Foundation was the speaker at the event which was attended by employees of the office.

  Mr. Nagpure introduced the topic and the speaker to the audience, before Mr. Behera addressed the group. Information related to the following topics was given to the audience:

  • What is organ donation?
  • What is natural death and brain death?
  • What is the eye donation process?
  • What is the body donation process?
  • Causes of Brain death
  • Whom to contact for organ donation?
  • The THO Act 1994
  • Role of Zonal Transplant Coordination Center (ZTCC) in organ donation
  • MOHAN Foundation’s activities, using its website and Help Line number

  Questions asked by participants:

  • What is the difference between coma and brain death?
  • Whom to contact for organ donation after death?
  • Who is the head of the MOHAN Foundation?

  Around 22 participants were present at the event and 10 of them pledged to be organ donors. Mr. Rahul Nagpure thanked MOHAN Foundation and the participants as the event came to close.
