Motivating Talk for Women Cadets of NCC on Organ Donation

  • On 04th December 2014, the National Cadet Corps-India (NCC) wing of Bakthavachalam College for Women, Korattur, Chennai initiated a sensitization programme for their cadets. The programme coordinator (NCC) invited Cadaver Transplant Programme to give an awareness talk on Organ Donation. Mr. Prakash K. Transplant Coordinator was deputed from MOHAN Foundation to speak on the programme.

     

    The programme began in CTP with a welcome address by the coordinator of NCC and Mr. Prakash K. spoke about the Concepts of Organ Donation. He spoke of the activities of MOHAN Foundation. He introduced the students to the concepts of organ donation which included a description of brain death, value of a donor card and tissues and organs  that can be donated. He also explained a new avenue of social work called a transplant coordinator and explained about Transplant Coordinators Training Programme

     

    Totally 50 cadets participated in the talk and all of them picked donor card and supported the cause.
