MOHAN Foundation was invited to CME on Organ Donation by Kauvery Hospital Bengaluru

  • Dr. Harish Mallapura Director-Institute of Critical Care Medicine Maheshwarappa invited MOHAN Foundation to the CME on organ donation and give a talk on the legal aspects, roles and responsibilities of grief counselor.

    Around 30 staff members which included the doctors, nurses, marketing team, operations team and social workers attended the seminar. Organizational support was provided by Dr. Harish Mallapura Director-Institute of Critical Care Medicine.

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar - Project Manager MOHAN Foundation and Mr. Shridhar Hanchinal Hon. Director MOHAN Foundation.

    Dr. Srinivas Bojanappu, initiated the session by giving a talk on Deceased Donor Transplantation in India-Need of the Hour.

    Followed by Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS, gave a brief talk about the grief counselling procedure and what are the legal aspects, the transplant coordinator need to follow.

    Then she presented about the Organ donation awareness activities carried on by the Karnataka team. She highlighted on conducting the awareness sessions as it plays a key role to promote organ donation among the public. Finally, she touched upon how many audiences were reached on the awareness of organ donation and the audience were public, employees, police officers, doctors, nurses, and students.

    3. Dr. Surendar Sambath

    After the session the Chairperson Team members raised a question:

    • Whether MOHAN Foundation can support at the time of need during the counselling?

    The question was answered by Mr. Shridhar Hanchinal and Mrs. Ranjini Shankar
