  MOHAN Foundation conducted an Angels of Change program for volunteers in the NSS Unit of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, Pallikarnai on 23^rd June 2017. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Mr. Siva Shankar represented MOHAN Foundation. Mr. Prakash K.  Grief Counselor and Transplant Coordinator was invited as a Guest Leturer from Dr. Kamatchi Memorial Hospital, Pallikarnai.

  The program started with a Tamil Thai Vazuthu and followed by an introduction speech by Dr. S. Ramanathan, Principal of Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science about his knowledge on Organ Donation and latest news on organ donation.

  Secondly Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer of MOHAN Foundation gave a brief on the program “Angels of Change” and the activities which is been carried out by MOHAN Foundation for the past 20 years.

  Followed by the session Mr. Siva Shankar, Helpline executive of MOHAN foundation gave a comprehensive talk of Organ Donation and its need. Siva Shankar made the session very interactive by asking the questions related to organ donation.  He then explained about the organs that can be donated at the three stages i.e. while living, after Cardiac Death and after Brain Death.

  Mr. Prakash shared his personal experiences when he was posted at Government Hospitals as a Transplant Coordinator. He further gave a good knowledge about organ donation to the students. His session made the topic come alive in the minds of the volunteers.

  Dr. Hemal Kanvinde divided the students into four groups so that they can decide on how to come with new ideas on creating awareness on organ donation. Mr. Prakash gave a sample talk in Tamil to the students so that they can practice on how to do so in public to create awareness and Mr. Siva Shankar explained to the students how to do a survey on organ donation so that students were ready to do the survey.

  At last the feedback forms were issued to the students on the program that have been conducted. MOHAN Foundation thanks Dr. Ramesh Kumar, HOD of Tamil and NSS Unit, Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science for the opportunity to give awareness on organ donation to the college students.
