Webinar on Organ Donation conducted for the Rotary Club of Indore Adarsh District members in association with Anand Service Society, Indore

  • On 17th January 2021, Dr. Jimmy Gupta conducted an online awareness session on organ donation for the Rotary Club of Indore Adarsh Dist. 304 members in association with Anand Service Society.

    Dr. Jimmy introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and then she explained the concepts of organ and tissue donation. Then she explained the types of death i.e., circulatory death, brain death. She also explained in detail about brain death declaration through apnea test and procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation. She elaborated the procedure of skin, eye and bone donation to the gathering.

    After that Dr. Jimmy explained the barriers of organ donation i.e., myths and facts related to organ donation and how it impacts on organ donation. She also explained about the donor card and how one can become an organ donor and elaborated the volunteering training activities conducted by MOHAN Foundation for volunteers who are interested to support the noble cause of organ donation. Dr. Jimmy answered all the queries of the participants promptly

    Dr. Jimmy thereafter invited the participants to join MOHAN Foundation's internship and volunteering program. An online link to the donor card was shared in order to enable the public to take the pledge. Details of organ donation Helpline No 1800 103 7100 was also shared.

    About 20 participants attended session & pledged online to become an organ donor. Lastly, Mr. Gajendra Narang (President Rotary Club of Indore Adarsh Dist. 304) gave the vote of thanks to Dr. Jimmy for conducting the valuable session.
