Organ donation sensitization programme conducted at Training college of Nursing IGMC Hospital, Nagpur

  • On 10th August 2022, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness programme on organ donation for third year students of Training college of Nursing, IGMC Nagpur.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi was the speaker for the day. She began her  presentation by introducing herself and MOHAN Foundation and its activities.

    Thereafter, she touched upon the below topics:

     1, Concept of organ donation and its types

     2. Process of organ donation and transplantation

     3. Myths and Facts about organ donation

     4. Difference between tissues and organs

     5. A video explaining brain stem death was displayed to the audience and the concept of brain stem death was explained.

     6. MOHAN Foundation’s helpline was shared with the audience

    The session was interactive and informative; Around 92 teaching staff and students participated in the event. The students expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Prarthana and MOHAN Foundation for conducting a valuable session on organ donation.

    Questions asked by the audience

    1. What is the process of skin donation?
    2. What is the age limit for a deceased person to donate his eyes?

     We would like to thank Dr. Vaishali Shelgaokar for giving us an opportunity to conduct awareness session on organ donation.
