Organ donation awareness program at Regional Transport Office, Nagpur

  • On 22rd March 2016, Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur Centre visited the Regional Transport Office to give a talk on organ donation.  Around 44 persons were present during the talk held in the waiting hall. This was done at the invitation of Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Nagpur.  

    Mr. Bulu gave talk on the concepts of Organ donation. He spoke about types of donation, how, when and why donation is done. He highlighted with examples the chance to saves lives and how to pick a donor card. He explained brain death. He touched upon the myths about organ donation. He explained the Law of Transplantation, role of ZTCC Nagpur and the hospitals that have transplant license.

    13 drivers took the consent forms, and said they will discuss with their family members then sign consent form.

    Participants asked following question.

    What is the age for organ donation?

    How many people have signed the pledge form?

    If I sign the pledge form how will MOHAN Foundation know about my death?
