Organ Donation awareness talk conducted for EPS members of JCI Nagpur

  • On 20th February 2022, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants - Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness talk on Organ Donation along with women’s empowerment group. This session was organized by Mr. Ruturaaj Ganvir and Md. Hussain for the members of EPS (Effective Public Speaking) JCI,  Nagpur.

     

    Ms. Prarthana began session with introducing MOHAN Foundation and its activities. 53 members participated in the session.

     

    She then explained the below topics about organ donation.

    1.   What is organ donation and its types?

    2.   Importance of organ donation in India

    3.   Concept of Brain death

    4.   Difference between solid organs and tissues

    5.   The role of transplant coordinators in hospitals

    6.   Role of ZTCC was explained to the audience

    7.   Myths and facts about organ donation was discussed.

    8. Statistics about organ donation in different countries was displayed and explained.

    9.   MOHAN Foundation helpline number was displayed to the audience.

     

    The session was very interesting and interactive. EPS members actively participated in the event. They expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Prarthana for organizing a meaningful and valuable session, which touched their hearts and motivated 36 members to pledge their organs.

     

    Questions asked by the audience were as follows:

    • What is the role of ZTCC in Organ Donation?
    • Can blind people donate their cornea?

     

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi answered all the queries. MOHAN Foundation would like to thank Mr. Ruturaaj Ganvir and all the members of JCI Nagpur for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation
