Organ Donation Awareness for staff of Saint Gobain, Sriperumbudur

  Dr Hemal Kanvinde met the senior management of Saint Gobain at their Corporate Office, Egmore to discuss our work on organ donation.  As a follow up the Management of Saint Gobain decided to have an awareness session for their management staff at their factory at Sriperumbudur.

  With the support from Mr. Manikandan K., HR Saint Gobain, Sriperumbudur, Mr. Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator conducted an awareness session on July 18, 2023. He engaged the 24 office staff and walked them through the concepts of organ donation and transplantation, brain death, how to get transplant, various government schemes and Organ Donation Helpline 1800 103 7100. During the session green ribbons and information brochures were distributed. There was a lot of interactions about every aspect of organ donation.

  Some of the questions put forth were:

  1. Why is organ donation not possible in case of circulatory death?
  2. Can organs be donated in case of death by snake bite?
  3. Can organ donation happen in MLC?
