Mrs. Ranjini Shankar M S (Project Manager, MOHAN Foundation) met with the AGM of BSNL Office Mrs. Shanathamma and organized an awareness session for the BSNL staff on 27th November 2021, the National Organ Donation Day.
MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mr. Marulappa, Transplant Coordinator and Mrs. Ranjini. Around 31 BSNL staff attended the session.
Mrs. Ranjini began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision; explained the concept of organ and tissue donation; types of death i.e., cardiac death and brain death; brain death declaration and its process through apnea test and few other clinical tests; and the procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation. She also spoke about eye, skin and bone donation; explained the role of Jeevasarthakathe; transplant law; and the importance of a donor card.
All 31 members supported the cause by taking the organ donation pledge on and collected their donor cards. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to BSNL for the opportunity.
