  Mr. Raju Nimbarkar of Alankar Nagar in Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to give information about organ donation on 29^th May 2019 at a wedding celebration in the city. Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation set up an information stall with information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.

  Information given to the wedding guests:

  • Types of death
  • What are the organs that can be donated after brain death, natural death and while living
  • Where and how can a patient get added in the transplant waitlist
  • Who can donate organs and what is the value of a donor card
  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation
  • Using the Helpline number and MOHAN Foundation website

  Questions asked by a few guests:

  • Whom to contact for organ donation after natural death?
  • Whom to contact for eye donation?
  • What is bone marrow?
  • What is body donation?
  • How much does it cost for a kidney transplant?

  Around 40 people visited the stall and 7 of them signed consent forms and picked up their donor cards. 20 other visitors took consent forms will sign them after discussing with their family.
