Organ Donation Awareness Drive for Ex-Air Warriors

• On 17^th August 2015 Air Force Veteran conducted an event on Organ Donation. As part of their ONE SIX NINE SILVER JUBILEE EVENT Mr. Suresh Babu, Air Force Team Leader invited MOHAN Foundation to talk on Organ Donation during the programme. The programme was held at Shelter Beach Resort ECR Road, Mahabalipuram, at  12.15pm.

  Mr.Prakash K. Transplant Coordinator MOHAN Foundation, Chennai facilitated the programme. The following topics were covered in the talk:

  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
  • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
  • Difference between brain death and coma
  • Importance of the consent from the family
  • Importance of Donor card 
  • Tissues and organs  that can be donated
  • Helpline Number

   

  Several queries were asked by the participants such as Does MOHAN Foundation involve in the processes of organ donation, where to register for eye donation, how long the donor card will be valid. All the queries were answered by the coordinator.  Totally 25 members have participated in the programme and all of them pledged the donor card.
