Chennai, August 23, 2025: MGM Healthcare honoured several organ donors and their families at a heartfelt felicitation programme, recognising their priceless contributions in saving and transforming lives. The event was organized by MGM Healthcare’s Institute of Liver Diseases, under the leadership of Dr. Thiagarajan Srinivasan, Senior Consultant and Director. MLA Mr. M.K. Mohan and actress Ms. Neelima Rani graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.
Following the felicitation, a walkathon themed “Miles for Lives” was held to raise awareness about organ donation. A signature campaign was set up at the starting point for volunteers to pledge their support. The walk was flagged off by MLA Mr. M.K. Mohan and Dr. Prashanth Rajagopalan, Managing Director, MGM Healthcare. Volunteers and Students of Shri Krishnaswami College for Women and Soka Ikeda College, marched from MGM Healthcare to Anna Tower Park, holding placards with powerful slogans promoting organ donation.
At Anna Tower Park, the awareness drive continued with vibrant cultural performances by Loyola College students, who staged street plays and mime acts on the importance of organ donation.
Dr. Hemal addressed the gathering, sharing insights on how organ donation can give the gift of life and transform families. Information brochures on organ and corneal donation were also distributed to the public.
In total, 346 participants joined the rally, uniting their voices to spread awareness for this noble cause.
