




"Aashayein 2023," a special event for dialysis patients, was organized by the Nephroplus, the largest dialysis network with more than 300 centres spread across India as well as East and West Asia. ‘Aashayein’ the educational and fun filled annual event was held on June 25, 2023 at Fortel Hotel, Egmore, Chennai. The venue was packed with smiling ‘Guests’ (those who on dialysis) and their families. Around 200 of them attanded the event. This event featured insightful tips from experts including doctors, dieticians and others from the field.
MOHAN Foundation was invited to educate the group on ‘Kidney Transplant - A gift of Life’. Mrs. Usha Balasubramanian (Patient Support Group - Chennai Chapter Head) and Ms. Sujatha Suriyamoorthi (Associate Director - Courses) represented the MOHAN Foundation. The session covered transplant, types of donors, registering for deceased donor transplant, life after transplant, costing - dialysis Vs transplant. Mrs. Usha Balasubramanian, shared her experience of being a care taker for her late husband Mr. Balasubramanian who was on dialysis for many years.
