

MOHAN Foundation took its first step in establishing its base in the North-Eastern region of India by conducting an organ donation awareness programme in the state of Manipur at the SIMPS Institute of Medical and Paramedical Science, Pangei Village in east Imphal. The institution established in 2014, offers courses in Nursing, Medical Lab Technology, Radiology and Imaging Technology, Operation Theatre Technology, etc.
Ms. Sorokhaibam Roma Devi of MOHAN Foundation was present to deliver the talk at the institute. The session which was conducted on 10th January 2019, began around 11:30 AM and was attended by 30 students and 4 teaching staff.
Ms. Roma spoke about the concepts of organ donation, brain death, organs and tissues that could be donated and a few myths related to organ donation. She also answered a few questions that the audience had. Certain participants registered as organ donors and received donor cards.
