  • Salem Medical Expo 2014 is a trade show which delivers a comprehensive platform for all hospitals. This Expo was organised by Confederation of Indian industry (CII). It was held from 20th to 22nd June 2014 at Daivikan Kalyana Mandapam, Salem.  Dr. Ramesh from CII invited MOHAN Foundation to set an awareness stall on that event.

Mr. Jeyabal M, Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation manned the stall. Mr. Jeyabal M distributed the organ donation information brochures to the students medical and engineering colleges of Salem, doctors and general public.  Short awareness films were telecast at multiple TV screens in the venue. This created a buzz among the visitors and made them seek out our stall. Two NGO’s visited the stall and took 100 information brochures for creating awareness on organ donation in the remote villages at Salem District.

Visitors to the stall were told about: Importance of organ donation, Eye donation, difference between brain death & natural death and importance of donor card.

More than 1000 people visited the stall and 300 Salem residents picked the donor card. During the event Mr. Jeyabal M gave  a 5 minute Organ Donation awareness talk on the radio Salem Kodai FM.
