Dr. Christopher Barry, US transplant liver transplant surgeon and Advisory Board Member of the MOHAN Foundation, presented “Liver Transplantation for Hepatocellular Carcinoma and the Role of Preoperative Chemoembolization” to the Department of Surgery at the Government Medical College, Trivandrum on 26th September 2014.
Dr. Barry was invited by Dr. C. Jayan, Additional Professor of Surgery and Dr. Noble Gracious, Nodal Officer, Kerala Network of Organ Sharing. Attendees included medical students, resident doctors and Attending Surgeon Staff. Many interesting points were made during the question and answer session. The overall success of liver transplantation for liver cancer and the importance of organ donation were emphasized.
