MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Manikandan, founder of Vijayalakhmi Foundation for Children’s Day celebration in Shelter Home, a home for children affected with HIV / AIDS. Mr.Manikandan, a software professional is concerned about the underprivileged and children. His wish to inaugurate a  body for the welfare of the society was accomplished on Children’s Day. He invited MOHAN Foundation to give an awareness talk about the noble cause -  Organ Donation.

During his speech, Mr.Manikandan shared the vision and mission of Vijayalakhmi foundation to provide quality life and medical care to the children affected with HIV / AIDS. The inmates who are fighting against this deadly disease with much courage and confidence were moved up with his speech.

Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation gave a presentation on "Organ Donation". The children showed more interest in gaining knowledge about organ donation and transplantation. With all hope and happiness they told that they will pledge for organ donor card once they reach the age of 18. The children raised questions like can a person with HIV / AIDS donate or receive organ(s) through this cadaveric organ donation programme. A noble thought was seeded in young children's mind and we all believe that the light of life will pass on even after death.
