Awareness talk for students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Chennai

  • To create awareness among youngsters about organ donation, transplantations and their possible contributions, an awareness talk was conducted at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kilpauk, Chennai on 30th of July, 2022. The MOHAN Foundation team that organised the awareness talk consisted of Ms. Lakshya Leo G (Legal Intern), Mr. Pranav Sridhar K (Intern) under the guidance of Mr. Ganesh C (Marketing Coordinator).

     

    The team reached the school by 10:30 am and were given the auditorium to prepare for the talk. The first batch of students who attended the talk were of class 12. The second batch of students were of class 11. Both the batch had an awareness talk that covered topics like organ donation and transplantation, whole body donation, contributions that can be done by the youngsters to increase the rate of organ donation. Subsequently, both the batch of students  (180 in number)  also had a quiz based on movies, breaking the misconceptions that the films had created with relation to organ donation and transplantations. The students were also given brochures and green ribbons to facilitate them to show their support for the cause. 

     

    The awareness talk was done by Ms. Lakshya Leo G and the quiz was carried over was Mr. Pranav Sridhar K. Mr. Ganesh explained the use of our helpline, answered some of the queries raised by the students and  managed the photographs that were taken and the other aspects of the event.

     

    After the awareness talk, the team met Vice Principal Mrs. Geeta Ganesh Iyer  to thank her for providing this great opportunity to conduct the talk.
