A talk was held for BSW students of Aditi Mahavidyalaya (a girls college in Bawana Industrial Area of North Delhi) on 1st November 2012. It was organized through one of the volunteers at the foundation.
The session began by one of the participants sharing her experience of kidney donation within the family. It served as a good ice breaker as it gave a group a good perspective on living donation and issues around it. All other aspects on deceased donation were covered by the MOHAN Foundations team. The relevance of the issue in today’s scenario and the need to pledge their organs and also spread the word in their family and peer group was well understood by them.
Out of 70 participants who attended the talk, 46 of them took organ donor cards. The staff of the college has also requested the Foundation’s team to conduct a similar session for the entire faculty and the remaining batch of students in the coming month.
