On 8th July 2021, organ donation ambassador and intern of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Keerthika D organised an online awareness session for a group of 52 people, that included her family and friends.
The awareness session on Zoom began with an introduction of MOHAN Foundation by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, the Quality Assurance Officer. In the segment that followed, Ms Keerthika spoke about the need for organ donation, who can become donors, which organs and tissues could be donated, and the registration process. She also described brain death and narrated stories of organ donors and recipients. She then urged all the participants to register as organ donors and get their donor cards.
An interesting Q&A session followed, where Ms Keertika and Dr Kanvinde jointly answered questions from the participants. Ms Keerthika also received a number of positive feedbacks and there were requests from the audience to organise more such sessions. The group that was almost entirely unaware of organ donation, found the session to be highly informative and helpful and a few shared their intention to sign up as organ donors.
