Ambassadors Mr Preetha P and Ms Vedikha N set up an information desk at Ambattur Municipality Office for a 6 day awareness campaign. The campaign ran between Dec 15 - 22, 2022. Ms Arshiya Fathima H of MOHAN Foundation initiated the campaign, Sanitary officer, Mr Manjur Hussain helped in getting the required permissions.
All together 123 people approached the desk and got information about organ donation. 28 visitors registered for organ donation and picked a donor card.
Some of the queries were about pre-existing condition like diabetes or recovered from jaundice and not being able to be a donor. Some were not used to registering online and the ambassador helped them. Among the visitors were a 10 member from Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, they asked details about organ donation and seven members from the party pledged for organ donation. They also took a video about the awareness campaign to upload it in their YouTube channel. A visitor truly believed that organs were being sold by people and by hospitals, counseling about the real situation was given to him.
The Chairman of the Municipality Shri P K Murthy, visited the stall and asked about the work of MOHAN Foundation and about Organ Donation. He was pleased that there was an information desk on this noble cause. On the last day, Ms Arshiya Fathima thanked the Executive Engineer Mr. Kumara Samy and Health office Dr.Priya and for helpling MOHAN Foundation to set and information desk and create awareness among the public.
