  MOHAN Foundation was invited for awareness program on Organ Donation by EC Group Datasoft Pvt. Ltd, Anna Nagar. Mr. Siva Shankar was deputed for the session.

  The session started with distribution of green ribbons in support of Organ Donation.  30 employees attended the session. Mr. Siva Shankar started the talk with activities of MOHAN Foundation for the past 20 years. He further explained the Concepts on Organ Donation and the organs that can be donated, when, why what and how.

  The discussion continued with the following

  1. The organs that can be donated
  2. Types of Donors
  3. Brain Death and Coma
  4. Donor Card
  5. Organ allocation - TRANSTAN (Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu)

  The session went on for 30 minutes, and there were questions from the participants.

  The questions raised were:

  1. Why organs donated in the event of Natural Death
  2. If a person has taken a donor card with his wish, why is next of kin permission needed to complete the wish?
  3. How does the government allocate the organs?
