MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur to conduct an awareness session on organ donation. The session was held on 25 April 2017. It was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license
Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained the concepts through a presentation. He covered the what, when, how and why of organ donation. He also touched upon Kidney transplant hospitals in Nagpur; Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website and Priority list of Organ recipient.
It was a very interactive session. 30 drivers were present at the talk. 5 drivers signed consent form and took donor card.
The drivers asked the following questions:-
1) After kidney transplant dialysis is required or not?
2) What is the cost for kidney transplant?
3) Is liver transplant possible in Nagpur?
4) What is the cost for liver transplant?
