MOHAN Foundation speaks to drivers at Regional Transport Office(R.T.O), Nagpur about Organ Donation

• MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Powar, RTO officer, Nagpur branch to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license on 20 October, 2015.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points :

  • Importance and need of Organ donation
  • Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death
  • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation
  • Tissue donation – Eye and skin
  • Whole body donation
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website
  • MOHAN Foundation activities including training program

  52 drivers participated in a very interactive session. The queries discussed were:

  Why is it so expensive for a liver transplant?

  Which organs are transplanted in Nagpur?
