Donor Memorial

  • Mr. Karsandas Gopaldas  Gaudana - 89 Years

Mr. Karsandas Gopaldas Gaudana, aged 89 years, was a businessman from Gujarat, settled in T.Nagar, Chennai. Greatly religious, Mr. Gaudana was also self-dependent, calm, caring in nature.

On the unfortunate evening of 11th December 2021, around 8pm, he breathed his last. His son Mr. Hitesh K Gaudana, called MOHAN Foundation close to 10pm, seeking support to donate his father's body to a hospital. Mr. Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator, attended the call, appreciated Mr. Hitesh's decision, and informed him that he could donate his father's corneas too, before donating the body. Mr. Hitesh readily agreed to this suggestion. The family had already donated the corneas of Mr. Hitesh's grandfather back in Gujarat, and this was not something new for them.

Mr. Hitesh was given the contact details of an eye bank and hospital for body donation. Following this, Mr. Karsandas's corneas were donated to Sankara Nethralaya and his body to Sri Ramachandra Hospital, Porur. The news of this eye donation was also covered in the special remembrance column of The New Indian Express.

Mr. Hitesh's had found the Foundation's number on Justdial and reached out. He now feels blessed and honored that he made this decision. He is proud that his father, not only will help future medical professionals in research, but will also help someone see. He wishes more people would come forward to do this kind of noble deeds and has promised to create awareness about the cause.

MOHAN Foundation is grateful to the Gaudana family and is thankful to Sankara Nethralaya and Sri Ramachandra Hospital for their support.
