Trucker’s Day Health Mela–Drivers celebrate their anniversary with a noble cause

• The Association of the truck driver’s, Manjambakkam invited MOHAN Foundation to give Organ Donation awareness talk to their members on “TRUCKER’S DAY HEALTH MELA”, celebration on 17.02.2016. The initiative was taken by Mr. Gnanasekar. Ms. Gieetha, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation was deputed to address the group.

   

   Ms. Gieetha gave a brief introduction on Organ Donation to the audience who were gathered.  Nearly 100 group of audience attended the Truckers Day. She spoke on following topics:

  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
  • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
  • Difference between Brain death and Coma
  • Donor card  & Importance of the consent from the family
  • Tissues and organs  that can be donated
  • Information sources -Helpline Number and websites 

  Many question were raised after the session, all doubts were clarified all promised to support Organ Donation.
