Transport Officer promotes organ donation in office premises

  Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation in his training hall on 29 May 2018. This was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:

  v  Organ Donation and the Law

  v  Who, when, and how of organ donation

  v  Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma

  v  Myths related to Organ donation

  v  Deceased donation case in Nagpur

  v  Kidney transplant hospital in Nagpur

  v  Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

  It was a very interactive session. 32 drivers were present at the talk. 2 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.

  The drivers asked the following questions:

  • Does the Government provide any facility to organ donor?
  • Why MOHAN Foundation is doing public awareness program?
  • How will MOHAN Foundation know of my death to help in organ donation ?
