Regional Transport Office, Chennai supports Organ Donation

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited for an Organ Donation Awareness Program at the Anna Nagar Regional Transport Office. It was meant for the people who wait to get their Learners Licence Registration and Driving Licence. The Session was conducted on 27th July 2018 at 11:30 AM. Mr. T. S. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive, MOHAN Foundation.  

    Mr. T. S. Siva Shankar gave the brochures to the participants at start and then he began the talk by explaining the Concepts of Organ Donation. He explained the following in his talk:

    1. Organ Donation and its need
    2. The organs that can be donated
    3. Organ Donation during Living, Cardiac Death and Brain Death
    4. Brain Death and its causes
    5. Age Criteria in Organ Donation
    6. Myths on Organ Donation
    7. Donor Card

    The session went on for 30 minutes. Some questions that were raised during the talk:

    1. Why organs will not be taken after Cardiac Death?
    2. Will the recipient know who the donor is?
