Organ Donation Awareness to Commemorate Death Anniversary at Nagpur

  In remembrance of his father Shri. Kadam who was an eye and body donor, his son Dr. Satish Kadam organized an organ donation awareness session on August 2, 2020. The family has been following the noble tradition of observing the Nischay Din since Shri. Kadam’s demise in 2012. This year’s was conducted online, on the Zoom platform, by Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director of MOHAN Foundation Nagpur.

  Information was given on the following topics:

  • Types of deaths
  • Organs that can be donated after Brain Death, after Natural Death and while living
  • Where is waitlist of organ failure patients available and how to register in it
  • Who can donate organs and
  • MOHAN Foundation’s activities
  • Helpline number and MOHAN Foundation’s website
  • How would MOHAN Foundation get to know of someone’s death?
  • The Organ Transplantation Act 1994
  • Importance of Donor card

  Around 85 participants joined the session which was highly interactive. MOHAN Foundation is grateful to Dr. Satish Kadam and family for taking up this noble mission.
