  On 3rd August 2023, an organ donation awareness session at India Post, West Zone, successfully met its primary objective of educating employees about the importance of organ donation. Both Ms. Shamika Singh and Mr. Prem Singh Rathod effectively conveyed the fundamental concepts of organ donation and fostered a positive attitude toward this life-saving act.

  The participants actively engaged in the session, enthusiastically participating in interactive discussions and asking questions to seek clarification on various aspects of organ donation. Their keen interest indicated a strong willingness to support the cause. Around 40 participants attended the session and 3 pledged their organs.

  The organ donation awareness session covered several key topics:

   

  • Understanding Organ Donation: Mr. Rathod commenced the session with an overview of organ donation, differentiating between living and deceased donation, and highlighting the various organs and tissues that can be donated.
  • Importance of Organ Donation: The session underscored the critical need for organ donations in India, supported by relevant statistics and real-life stories illustrating the transformative impact of organ transplantation.
  • Myths and Facts: Common misconceptions surrounding organ donation were addressed, with the aim of dispelling unfounded fears and misconceptions among participants.
