MOHAN Foundation organizes Awareness Session for NCC Officers and Students in Bengaluru

  • Mr. Srinivas, Commanding Officer of NCC, invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness session for the NCC officers and students of South Division, Bengaluru. Mr.  LN Marulappa, Transplant Coordinator of the Foundation, organised this virtual session on 18th July 2021 and around 85 people attended the session.

    Mrs. Hemavathi BN (Transplant Coordinator) and Mrs. Ranjini Shankar M S (Project Manager) joined Mr. Marulappa for the session. Mrs. Hemavathi initiated the session with the introduction of MOHAN Foundation and its activities. Mrs. Ranjini then continued with the importance and need for organ donation, brain stem death and circulatory death, spoke about Jeevasarthakathe and its role and briefly touched upon the transplant law.

    During the interaction, the audience raised the following questions:

    • Does my age/fitness level disqualify me from being a donor?
    • Distribution of the Organs
    • Can COVID-positive patients be donors?
    • Can COVID recovered patients be donors?
    • Difference between organ and tissue donation
    • Green Corridor
    • Can cancer affected patients be donors?

    Is any priority given for organ failure patients in the waiting list?
