MOHAN Foundation conducted an Organ Donation awareness session at Symphony Chs Ltd, Kandhivili

  • With the aim to create awareness about organ donation, dispel myths and misconceptions associated with organ donation and motivate and encourage the society memebers to donate organs after death. The society members of Symphony Hosing CHS Ltd, Mumbai, were eager to know more for them this session was like an eye-opener wherein they are keen in joining as a volunteer and be a part of this cause. Ms. Padmavathi Vasudevan, Project Officer MOHAN Foundation Mumbai along with Abhijit Chawan, Intern and Mr. Sudeep Pathak who is a Liver recipent were present from MOHAN Foundation, conducted an awareness session with Symphony Hosing society in Kandivili on 26th January 2024, addressing the overall challenges, fears and the misconceptions prevailing amongst everyone when we initiate conversation regarding donating our organs.In her talk-cum-presentation Padma spoke about -
    1. What is Organ Donation ?
    2. How deceased organ donation can save multiple lives ?
    3. Current state of organ donation in India and the wide gap in demand and availability of donated organs
     4. The imperativeness of increasing cadaver organ donation
    5. Time factor in ensuring successful organ donation and transplantation
    6. Process and purpose of pledging organs and tissues.
    7. Activities and Courses conducted by MOHAN Foundation
      The most energetic and more involved were the senior citizens. They were the ones who did pledge and did ask various     questions. Our heartfelt gratitude to them as they are the torch bearer for the youngsters and the family.
     The facts behind Myths & Superstitions surrounding Organ Donation.What are the challenges before us in motivating and encouraging Organ Donation was discussed. The session was so There were 250 members who attended the session. MOHAN Foundation would like to thank Dr. Pramod Gawali and the committee members of the society for inviting us to their society and supporting this noble initiative. Humble grattiude to the senior citizens who have been active all around during the session.
