AIIMS Rishikesh participates in the online Rangoli Competition organized by MOHAN Foundation

  • On January 20, 2024, MOHAN Foundation (MF) organized a pan-India online rangoli competition to promote organ donation awareness. On January 11, 2024, Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director, MF, informed Dr. Ankur Mittal, HOD, Department of Urology, AIIMS Rishikesh, about the competition, urging him to spread the word officially within various departments, including the Nursing College of AIIMS Rishikesh.

     

    Given the task of inspiring nursing college students, Sanchit Arora the MF project leader, met with Prof. Smriti Arora, Principal, AIIMS Rishikesh Nursing College, to ask for her help in putting up the event poster and permission to visit specific classes to announce the event. After being informed of the regulations and registration procedures, seven groups of two students each and two single candidates—a total of 16 participants—voluntarily signed up for the competition.

     

    On January 18, the venue was finalized in front of the Director's office with official approval. On January 20, the competition day, 16 participants created rangolis on organ donation theme.

     

    Professor Meenu Singh, Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Rishikesh, Dr. Ankur Mittal, HOD, Department of Urology, and Dr. Sheron, HOD, Department of Nephrology, visited the venue and shared their insights.

     

    Prof. Meenu Singh addressed the participants, motivating them to increase awareness about organ donation. She specifically commended the nursing college students for their active role in spreading awareness and acknowledged the significant efforts made by the MOHAN Foundation in organizing this mass pan-India rangoli event. Additionally, she recognized the collaborative efforts of AIIMS Rishikesh's Departments of Urology and Nephrology.

     

    On January 27, MOHAN Foundation sent the online link for the result declaration event to all the participants.

     

    After the introductions of MOHAN Foundation representatives, judges, and participants, the results were announced. Out of the top 8 best rangolis (PAN India), 5 winners were from AIIMS Rishikesh. The top 3 winners will receive cash prizes, while the next 3 winners will receive gift prizes. Additionally, participation certificates were provided to all participants.

     

    In the end, the MOHAN Foundation team thanked all participants not just for their involvement in the rangoli competition but also for spreading awareness and supporting the cause of organ donation.
