Barclays Promotes Organ Donation with a talk for its employees

  • On 04.02.2016, Barclays Shared Services Private Limited organized a session on Organ Donation for their employees and the session was facilitated by Mr.Prakash K, Transplant Coordinator MOHAN Foundation, Chennai.  Mr. Anandakumar P. Senior Test Analyst invited MOHAN Foundation to share the information on organ donation. A group of 100 employees participated in the programme. Few short films were shown to highlight the need of donation of human organs and tissues.

     

    The following topics were covered in his talk:

    • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country
    • Tissues and organs that can be donated
    • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
    • Difference between Brain death and Coma
    • Importance of the consent form and  Donor card 
    • Helpline Number and website

     

    The participants raised several queries about organ sharing and allocation, why should I inform my parents if I am a major, where does the organ donation take place, does MOHAN foundation involve in the process of donation and organ allocation process. The queries were answered by Transplant Coordinator. At the end of the sessions all of them showed their support for the cause by pledging their organs and taking a donor card.
