  • On March 14, 2018 MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation at Snap-on Business Solutions, Sector-127, Noida. The session was initiated through the efforts of Shweta Mittal, a student of Amity University who was interning at MOHAN Foundation. She contacted Mr. Anil Tanwar who took up the cause following which Corporate Social Responsibility (Prayer) group and Ms. Chavi Chowdhury from the HR team executed the session.

Snap-on Business Solutions designs productivity solutions that provide practical access to actionable information. They design and deliver electronic parts catalogs, accessory sales tools, warranty process management solutions, and manufacturer network development services. They are part of Snap-on Incorporated's Repair Systems & Information Group, founded in 1920, and are a $3.1 billion, S&P 500 Company headquartered in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The session went amazingly well with the resource person; Mareena Thomas Programme officer of Delhi-NCR clarified the doubts about organ donation. She was accompanied by Shweta Mittal, a student interning from Amity University. The video on brain dead was helpful to make the audience understand the criteria and requirements for donation despite one’s passion and will to donate. She also talked about myths and facts which were eye-opening for them. Audience was interacting and asked questions on difference between brain death and coma, consent of family members after death, importance and validity of donor card, legal aspects, witnesses and procedure for donation which were duly answered. Few of them had some prior knowledge and answered the questions on brain and cardiac death.

In the end, video on gratitude towards donors was shown which made the audience little emotional and explained how important this issue is. Later, brochures and form number 7 were distributed and it was good to see the response of people coming ahead for pledging as we fell short of donor forms and had to get more.

There were 40 employees who attended the talk along with the HR Team Head Mr. Sidharth Bhatnagar who was very positive about this cause and is interested in getting associated with the Foundation in future, involving its CSR wing too.
