NCC is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. In 2018, sensitization of the cadets on eye and organ donation had been included in NCC curriculum. This was the third session, the other two were conducted on July 25, 2018 and December 29, 2018 respectively by MF representatives.

Havaldar Karamveer Singh addressed the audience and introduced the MF team. He then invited Dr. Muneet to begin the session. The session began with screening of a movie, 'Donate organ and save life'. She then asked the participants a few introductory questions on organ donation to have an understanding of their knowledge quotient regarding the subject. Then she went on to explain the need to promote organ donation in the country. She cleared their confusion regarding the organs & tissues that can be donated after circulatory death and brain death respectively.

The cadets were enthusiastic and had a wide range of queries like:

    • Can a person donate his eyes when he is alive?
    • Can a transplanted cornea be reused for another patient?
    • Can a live donor lead a normal life after donating an organ?

Dr. Muneet answered the above questions raised by the cadets and explained the basics of organ donation. She explained the following in detail:

    • Organ donation and its need in the society
    • When and how does organ donation take place
    • Brain death and circulatory death
    • Transplant Law
    • Organs that can be donated during life and after death

In the end, a movie on brain death was shown to the audience to bring clarity to the said subject. Importance of eye donation and the whole process of eye donation was also explained in detail.

Col. K. Balaji, Captain Sanjay Kumar and Captain Parvesh Sorghum were the chief audience.

The session ended with Havaldar Karamveer Singh thanking MOHAN Foundation representatives for conducting a very informative session. He also explained to the cadets the objective behind organizing such a session.
