The participants were asked if they had heard about organ donation and also inquired if any one amongst them and in their families had signed up to be an organ donor. Most of the participants raised their hands in affirmation of having heard about organ donation.

She then explained the basic concepts of organ donation and transplantation with the help of a simple powerpoint presentation. The following topics were explained in detail:

While on the subject of brain death, a movie was shown to give clarity on the difference between brain death and coma. Myths and facts on organ donation were also discussed. One of the myths that if one donates organs in this birth then you will be born without them in the next birth, to this one of the participants replied that organ donation is an act of altruism and after death the body is going to be burnt and organs will be destroyed, so why not donate organs and save lives in this birth only.

At the end of the session, Dr. Muneet explained the importance of eye donation and the whole process of eye donation. She motivated the audience to pledge for eye donation. She also explained how one could pledge to be an organ donor.
