  On 26^th November 2022, an awareness session on Organ Donation was conducted by Jeevandan at Kurnool Medical College in which Ms. Sadika Safeena from MOHAN Foundation was the key resource

  Dr. K. Rambabu (Director - VIMS & Chief Transplant Coordinator - Jeevandan, Andhra Pradesh) addressed the audience and gave a detailed insight into Andhra Pradesh’s experience in the field of Organ Donation and Transplantation and started the session by asking a few introductory questions on Organ Donation 

  The following topics were covered –

  • Organ donation and its need in the society
  • Jeevandan and its role
  • Organ donation criteria
  • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
  • Transplant waiting list in India
  • Brain death
  • Difference between brain death and coma

  Dr. K. Rambabu motivated the students to pledge for Organ Donation. The session was very interactive where in the participants enthusiastically contributed to the discussion and asked many queries.

   Around 200 students were present who pledged to donate organs.
