An awareness talk was organized by MOHAN Foundation at the Memorial Service in Bengaluru

  • On December 16, 2023. Ms. Divya invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct awareness campaigns on the occasion of the memorial service of her father-in-law Shri. Gopala Krishna. The audience included their relatives, friends, and colleagues; close to 200 members attended the talk.

     MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS (Project Manager) and Mr. Surya Prakash (Programme Coordinator). 

    Mrs. Ranjini was the key speaker; she initiated the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation and engaged the audience throughout the session. The following topics were discussed in detail:

    • Importance and need for organ donation.
    • Eligibility for organ donation
    • Concepts of brain death and circulatory death
    • Common myths that are prevalent in society
    • Importance of a Donor Card
    • A few lines on the passionate life of Shri Gopala Krishna, BS

    The audience was very interactive and posed several questions. To name a few:

    • Does my age or fitness level disqualify me from being a donor?
    • Does the recipient’s family have to pay money for the organs?
    • Whether the donor’s hospital charges will be taken care of by the recipient’s family or by the organization
    • Procedure for whole body donation
    • Is it compulsory for donor families to consent to organ donation even though they have registered for organ donation?

    Among the 200 audience members, 170 collected the donor cards by taking the pledge for the organ donation.

    MOHAN Foundation conveys its gratitude to the family, for choosing to support the life saving cause.
