MOHAN Foundation conducted a seminar on Concepts of Organ Donation for 2nd year nursing students on January 30, 2024. Ms. Arshiya Fathima H was the resource person. The students were welcomed with a green ribbon and an information brochure. Around 40 students attended the session.
Mr. Kishore (Professor) introduced the speaker to the students and welcomed them. The sessions started with a short movie of the Gift of Life, followed by a talk on the Concepts of Organ Donation by Ms Arshiya. She gave information on what and when donation can happen, brain death, voluntary body donation, skin donation and about helpline 1800 103 7100. She also explained misconceptions in society about organ donation and how to pledge and get a donor card. A film explaining brain death and certification was played at the end of the session.
The students eagerly waited to pledge and 15 students collected their donor cards.
