Organ donation awareness kiosk for outpatients in a hospital in Nagpur

  • On 17th March 2017, Super Specialty Hospital, Nagpur, invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients. Dr. Shrigiriwar arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.   Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde, transplant coordinators managed the stall. They also spoke one to one about the cause with the visitors.

    Types of deaths

    What can be donated after Brain Death, after Natural Death and while living.

    How and where is the waitlist of organs for recipients?

    Who can donate organs and what is the value of a donor card?

    25 patients and their family members visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 14 patients took the consent form & 2 patients signed the consent form and took the donor card, others said that they would sign the consent form after discussing with their family.

    2) Can a friend also donate a kidney to a patient with kidney failure?
