MOHAN Foundation Angels of Change Volunteer conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at JAMV School, Mumbai

  • On 15th August 2017, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Anjali Jinsiwale, Angels of Change Volunteer, Mumbai for an organ donation awareness stall and talk at JAMV School, Jogeshwari as part of blood donation camp as well as Independence Day celebrations.

    After sharing a brief introduction about MOHAN Foundation and its activities, Ms. Anjali Jinsiwale and Mr. Amit Shenoy spoke about what is Organ Donation, why is it needed, who can be donors and the process of how organ donation and transplantation is done. They also discussed the various barriers, myths and facts relating to organ donation.

    Mr. Amit Shenoy went on to share his father’s story on how he decided to work towards furthering the cause of organ donation after his father underwent a cadaveric liver transplant in July 2016.

    A lot of queries were asked regarding the process of organ donation as well as the process of registration on the waiting list. Mr.Amit Shenoy and Ms. Anjali Jinsiwale answered all the queries to satisfaction of the participants.

    Out of the 40 odd participants, 17 participants pledged their organs for the noble cause of organ donation.
