MOHAN Foundation Mumbai was invited by Ms. Prutha Atre and Mr. Gunarjun Chawla (Students of Sardar Patil Institue of Technology & Members of VPS TECHUB) to organize an Organ Donation drive for four days at their college annual culture festival “Udaan” and Techfest “Matrix” from 15th February To 18th February, 2017.
During these drive we partnered with the students of Sardar Patil Institue of Technology along with VPS TECHUB PVT.LTD. These students have developed the software that accepts signups with linkage to Aadhar card, thereby making it unique and we supported them by issuing the donor cards based on the information captured by their software. The students are now planning to approach individual NGOs and sell the software to them.
The students and the faculty members who approached the stall were explained the facts, barriers and myths in relation with Organ donation. Many of their queries were satisfactorily addressed at the stall itself.
Around 45 of them signed up for the Donor Card. Many more were made aware and were given our informative fliers. They wished to discuss their thoughts with their loved ones before deciding to signup.
